Eugeny Dobrovinsky

Eugeny Dobrovinsky is one of the most authoritative and brilliant masters of Russian graphic design. He celebrated his 60-anniversary on July 30, 2004. He works in the field of type, poster, book and magazine&journal design, as well as easel graphic. All the work he’s made for many years of his professional activity is penetrated with strong emotions, strict rationalism and incredibly vital love for life.

Among the main awards of Eugeny Dobrovinsky are Grand Prix at International Biennale of Graphic Design in Brno (1974); Silver medal at International exhibition — competition of Book Art (IBA) in Leipzig (1976); Silver medal at International Poster’s Biennale in Warsaw (1978); Golden medal at International Biennale of the Theatrical poster (Dimitrovograd, 1985); Grand Prix at International Museum Biennale (Krasnoyarsk, 2001); he is Finalist of Design Innovational Awards (DIA) in two nominations (Moscow, 2003, in cooperation).

Eugeny Dobrovinsky teaches Calligraphy at the High Academic School of Graphic Design; head of personal workshop. He read lectures and gave master — classes in Dzintary (1979), Freiburg (1989), Stockholm (1996), Kharkov (2002). In 1992—1997 he lived and worked in Israel.

Eugeny Dobrovinsky’s personal exhibitions have been carried out in Russia (1978, 1987, 2001), Austria (1988), Germany (1989,1990) and Sweden (1990). He is the author of a number of art happenings and performances.

Eugeny Dobrovinsky is a member of the Designers Union of Russia, the Artists Union of Russia and the  Designers Union of Israel. Academician at the Academy of Graphic Design.
